Okay, this will root the latest firmware using framaroot. However, it still cleans up the rct logging afterwards and leaves you with the unrooted status.
Just extract the zip, install the driver.
Then hit the root launcher.
Type in "run" without quotes and hit enter.
Follow instructions.
Any questions feel free to ask.
You can see my original toolkit that this builds off of here
If you have issues then hit me up on google+
Alright, tl;dr. Just give me the toolkit/rooter. Okay, so here are the "froots" of my efforts. (yes I said froots, :D )
when prompted "Install Supersu too?" type n

Alright, when it reboots into cwm recovery just hit reboot and then on the computer you can just press a key to continue.

Then, when its all done and goes back to a prompt you can just type in exit.

I'm not sure what you mean.

Did you see the stickied post. It goes into detail about what rct is.
It is logging spyware put on the phone by lg and verizon to tell whether your rooted or not.

Also, did the root method work for you?
Were you able to follow the instructions and have success?

also note guys, that I'm going to soon update this with a function for putting the default rct files in so no one will suspect anything is changed.

and if your running lucidian, then its a good idea to run this tool for cleanup of rct.

Sorry for confusion, Im a noob at this. I understand the rct. My question was whether the phone was rooted and just reported it as not afterwards, or it was rooted and then unrooted at the end.

I used this last weekend and all seemed well, but then it somehow became unrooted a day or so later.

One question I have is that when I plug my phone into the PC it wants to autoplay some crap and I just close those windows right? everytime? Ive loaded the drivers, do I need to do that everytime also? It seems to want to run some LG update service...

If framaroot is on the phone, is there a different procedure? I guess Im confused because it seemed to work for a while, then didnt, and now I cant run through the same original procedure to root again.

That's interesting.hmmm, I used this and mine is still rooted.

And yes,it is rooted but reports as not rooted. My tool removes report logs is all.

On your phone not being rooted, did you update supersu from the play store at all?

And how come you can't go through the original procedure again? Are you saying the su binary goes missing after a while? Or do root apps just stop working?

Oh, and it only popped up to install the drivers when you plug phone in for me,no updating stuff. Also, make sure you put your phone in mtp mode.

Sorry, I'm typing this on ma phone. Lol. Ye, you don't need autoplay. You should just be able to run framaroot again on the phone since my tool is just for rct removal. Once you use my tool, you can just use framaroot again since your having problems.
