Root New root with no data loss

Yeahha

Usually off topic
Hey guys, over at xda someone has come up with a root method that should not wipe your data. The guy who figured this out said it is not easier than the current method but if you want to try go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1174487 and pm the op or post in the thread he is still looking for people to test it out before making an official announcement

Remember try this at your own risk this process is still in the testing phase

ouch! make sure you read the thread. starting at post #20 jcase popped in and has advised against using this method, becasue of possible corruption. him and the creator seem to be butting heads pretty heavily now.

xda seems to have a lot of issues sometimes. It is one of those odd cases where the individuals all seem pretty solid but as a group they just don't work well.

Xda has a lot of very intelligent people who are very skilled and a lot of noobs. People over there often do not act grateful, there is a lot of flaming, and many of the devs can get frustrated quick because people don't bother to read. The community seems to me to be more hostile, I personally like the atmosphere here much better.

Edited the OP to make it clearer this is a beta root method and could be risky

the problem is the 500 page threads that pop in a week or two...

I've been yelled at before... read every one of those 500 pages... but then I couldn't remember where answer is a few days later when I needed it... nor were my searches helping much as the thread was SO HUGE...

so I asked... knowing it had been answered and someone got snippy w me.

not everyone nor all their threads are like that... and if you're really into developing stuff or a flash junky its worth wading through.

I agree with you, while not everyone at XDA flames and it isn't on all posts it is hard for someone to just jump into many threads. Yeah if you are a dev XDA is a great source of knowledge and many of the users there do amazing things but if you are an average user and asking a question that doesn't need to be answered by the dev directly I find it easier to post the question here or other android fan sites not specifically made for devs.

I flame and Im not ashamed of it, however I help out like a mofo as well. The people that I personally flame are the idiots that cant read the OP and the current last page. That alone would solve a lot of issues. If its something that hasnt come up in atleast the last page for me(I have them set to 50 posts per), Ill help them without issues, but if I JUST answered the question two/three posts back, best believe Imma flame yuh! lol.

But you are actually helpful and I can understand why you would do that. However I've seen someone bash someone for asking a questions in post 7000 or so and the response they got back was along the lines of "Come on dumbass that was already answered back in post 234 and 3904 read the thread" with links to the other post and in a not so nice tone.

I've also seen flaming with links to other threads where a question has been answered even if the question was on topic. I like it here much more. I still troll over at XDA and live at AF:D

I'm waiting for worm to tell me to stay on topic...
