New S3 owner - came from iPhone 3GS

Hi all. I thought I'd say hello before asking some questions.
I got my s3 (white, 16gb, on Three)last Tuesday and love it.

Coming from the 3GS, I find this phone and operating system a lot easier and has much more functionality.

The only thing I haven't liked so far is the battery life (i dont use wifi a lot, browse the web and FB a lot, also imdb, twitter etc) After a few charges the battery duration seemed to improve a little. I have the Easy Battery Saver app but it's a little annoying when it turns off the mobile data.

Looking forward to the Jelly Bean update.

Cheers

Remove easy battery saver it'll be doing more harm than good.
It's not a task killer. It changes network connection, brightness, and screen time-out. So, it might do some good, but I'm guessing the savings are minimal.

Welcome!

Try not to micromanage the phone's operation. You'll end up enjoying it a lot more. This includes not running battery saver apps and task killers. Just let Android work as it was designed. You can try turning off the motion sensor, and GPS, and turning on 'power saving' through the notification bar. Also consider lowering your screen brightness (it is one of, if not the highest, battery consumer).

Essentially, just use the phone, and stop stressing over trying to continuously optimize battery life.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'll take the battery app off and enjoy it for a while;)
Hope to come into the chat room at some point too;)

Just a quick update guys.

I took the battery app off yesterday. Charged the phone over night. The battery doesn't seem to be getting ate away as quick today.

One of the best things to do for ease of mind with your battery is to buy an extra battery and charger. Just carry the extra battery with you. It's so easy and quick to pop a fresh one in if needed. You can relax about worrying about your battery life. I don't have to use my spare very often, but it's great to have when I need it.

Just to update incase anybody comes across this post... My battery now lasts very long. I'm easily getting through a whole day 14hrs+ withouth the worry of needing to charge my battery. When I charge at night it's down to around 30%. Daily use includes calls, txts, facebook, twitter, internet and camera. Really happy now. I'm not running any battery apps either now. Just put the brightness to auto.

Thanks,
