Help New S5 User Questions! Modifying Call Swipe Method, Disable File Download, Etc.

New to Android! Just got the S5, Love it. I have some questions.

Whenever I download anything, it goes to "My Files" app. The download icon will appear at the top of the screen until I delete the item in 'My Files'.

1. Where are these files downloading to? It seems strange that the download icon in the notification bar doesn't disappear unless I delete it in the 'My Files' folder, I assume it's still trying to download to somewhere else... Note: I have a google plus account but thats about the only other external platform I'm on.

2. How can I stop this? I don't want to have to keep going into my files to delete downloads or every picture I take. In other words I don't need backups. Is there a way I can just stop this process?

3. I really do not like the swiping 'expand the circle' technique for answering phone calls. How can I change this? Are there apps that allow me to customize this method? Any recommendations?

THANKS FOLKS!

1. Pull down the notification shade to clear them. Basically swipe down from the top of the screen and a new screen comes out. You will see the expanded notifications as well as quick toggles. Each notification there for any app can be clicked to open it. For example you get an sms notification there while in the web browser. No need to exit out of the browser. Just swipe down and click the message notification. Each notification can also be cleared individually by swiping them to the right or left. Or you can click the clear all button that appears.

2. The files you are deleting in the My Files app aren't backups. They are the files you downloaded. If you want to keep the file you downloaded, you shouldn't delete them from My Files. That app is the file manager. Think of it as the 'My Computer' of Android, which allows you to look at the files. Deleting them from My Files is basically deleting the files you downloaded from the phone. If you want to get them again, you'll have to redownload.

3. Not sure of any free apps, but you can check caller ID apps on Play. I personally use Big Caller ID. It's a paid app but got it free off App Gratis for Android.
