I've been fighting with my Samsung Galaxy Victory a lot lately. We were down to very little space on my 4GB card and it was deleting songs from playlists; knowing I needed a new card before I could dowbload more apps and get more songs, I bought a 32GB. My new 32gb SD card was in the mail when I got home today. I spent every bit of the following 6 hours trying to move my stuff from my 4gb card to the new one with basically no success with the music.
First I tried putting the old card into my laptop with an adapter, copying literally all of it to a folder on the desktop, removing that card, sticking the new one (after formatting it in my phone) in, and pasting. Everything looked good, but when I put it back in my phone, it only found 73 of the ~800 songs, and half of them it skipped through because suddenly they were in the incorrect format.
I tried the same process thinking it was a copying error with, of course, the same result.
I tried copying the files straight from the old SD card in the adapter to the new one while the phone was plugged in by USB. There were a bunch of files it refused to transfer because they were corrupt- even though they played fine on the old card and still work great on my computer.
Finally I added all the songs to my iTunes library. It seemed to convert a bunch of them- last time I had a file format issue, this process seemed to fix it, though I'm not sure why. Since there didn't seem to be a way to sync to my phone without downloading another app(I really hate downloading apps for processes I think should be straightforward), I copied the new files to a folder on the desktop, then copied them to the phone/new SD card from there.
An hour after that copying process started, it finally says it's finished and only ONE song is showing up on my phone's music player.
Actually, I looked through the phone's file manager and none of the files I added are even there. Upon plugging it back into the computer, it also shows that none of the music files are there. Only thing on this card is a phone-created directory called "LOST.DIR." At least in my first couple methods, the files seemed to be on the card, just not in the player.
What gives?! I love getting new stuff and transferring files, but it got old after the first 30 minutes and I really don't want to spend another unsuccessful 6 hours on this.
Next step I guess is to try Dropbox, but I really can't think of anything from there so would appreciate some help.
