Have recently bought an sd card with 8 G capacity, I put it into my smartphone and the phone says the card is empty, what do I do?

Well if you just bought it it will be empty, so if this is a problem I guess there is something you are not telling us. Could you post again with a more detailed description, including what you think should be on the card and how you put it on there?
