Help New sD issues

This is my second attempt to upgrade my SD card. The first time, it fried the SD card. This time, I copied everything, Including hidden files, to the new card after I formatted it with the phone. I popped it in, and like the first time, none of my apps are connecting. So I have to download them again. Lucky, I backed them up and restored them. But after doing so, my internal memory fills up! What was 46mb before I swapped the cards is now 6mb! What happened and how do I fix it?

What brand/type of SD cards are you using. Are you using cheap, knock-offs or real, branded cards?

The first one was a chinese pos, so I went back to my 8gb Samsung that came with the phone. This new card Is a pny, so its branded.

Update: storage is so full, I can't text.
