Lurker
Hi All
I am new to Android - just received this week - the display is awesome!
Because I have been a veteran of the ID Breach Group (4 times), let's just say I am more than casually paranoid. So, the first thing I want is to:
1.) Lock this awesome device down, shut off any tattletales that I safely and reasonably can,
2.) Remove any bloatware that T-Mobile has default installed
3.) Install some type of anti-virus software
4.) Install some type of in/out data flow monitor (I use Lille Snitch in the Mac universe)
5.) Locate an encryption application (does anyone have any experience with a TruCrypt style application. (FYI: for password encryption I use PasswordWallet since my family is Windows, Apple and Android)
6.) Being a newbie, I am sure there are zillions of things I have missed - jump in, (FWIW, I did look to see if any one had posted a "First Things To Do" - there probably is one but I didn't look in the right places - any pointers are warmly welcomed.
I noticed that Slug and Lunatic were being generous with gently helping herd us lost critters - I applaud there kindness and can't help but add an atta' boy
I know I am asking a lot - so, don't think an answer has to be War and Peace, believe me, I will appreciate any pointers, suggestions or comments
Thanks
