Help New Software Upgrade

Newbie
I received a notification in the status bar about an hour ago saying that there is a new software upgrade. I'm already on ICS but I flashed the .211 by using the Utility. Anyone else receive this notification as well?

I got something similar saying that ICS is ready to be installed and if you do already have it installed check out the videos about it. Don't sweat it.

Cool, just wanted to make sure nothing crazy was going to happen. I'm rooted too so I didn't want to loose my root during that process either. thanks

I was hoping it was a patch, since my Razr uses more battery and runs hotter during use. Sleep mode is fine, so not a rogue app.

My thin's battery was already not the best when actually using web or games (hence the creation of the Maxx), but now it is less. Should have the SG3 by Friday, so will compare them. Razr battery and heat is up, but performance is better than pre update.

My battery life was crappy for the first few days (soak tester) and it started to improve but the thing that made the biggest difference was turning it off to charge once. After that, my battery life is back to normal, if not better.

You know...your post reminded me that when I first got my Maxx I shut it off to charge it once or twice in the beginning and the battery life seemed better afterwards (in addition to running it down all the way). I am going to do that next charge.

One other thing I've noticed. My battery life "seemed" worse initially, but I noticed the other day (about 3 days into ICS) that it got down to about 20% sooner than it used to, and then hung there for what seemed like forever. I didn't have access to a charger, and I kept waiting for it to go kaput, but it lasted for about another 6+ hours before I got home and put it on the charger. Now I wish I had left it go just to see how long it would have lasted. I'm convinced the upgrade trashes the battery calibration (which has been posted here in the forum by many before me).
