Welcome to AF.
You can browse the Market for cool applications. What you might consider cool may be different from what i consider cool, so it's best to decide for yourself. You should camp out in the Xperia X8 forum for the best tips and advice about your phone.

Hello there, welcome to the Android forums. I have linked a couple sections below that might help you find some good applications and theme posts to read through
Android Applications - Android Forums (People have posted their "favorite applications and such in the sticky's)
Android Themes - Android Forums (A good place for theme discussion, although if you want to just flash a put together theme, the Xperia X8 forum would be the place to look for those)
