Hey I'm just getting my first android phone, HTC Incredible. I like HTC's, I'm upgrading from a PPC6800
(archaic, I know) which was ok but agonizingly slow. All my friends have Droid X's but I wanted something a little slimmer and have heard alot of good things about the Incredible and only a couple bad things(Battery mainly).
I have messed with custom ROMs on it but all the android software and lingo is new to me. Anyway, I'm looking to Root and probably use a custom ROM. I have a background in computer networking and lots of hardware/software experience in PCs but not a whole lot in consumer electronics.
My Incredible should be in the mail this week so we'll see how it goes.
Hope all goes well on this new OS and phone.
Any recommendations are welcome, what ROM/kernels to use and any apps that are a must have. I'm on a 100mb data cap but will be around wifi most of the time so i'm definitely getting a 3g usage monitor and droidwall to keep my use under control when not on wifi.
