New to Android. Is security an issue?

Hi,
Just got my first android. A galaxy ace. Am thinking of buying the wife one as she loves the wattpad book reading app. I was wondering if I buy ebooks or apps, is there a security issue with my card details? I saw a message when I went to get an app "your card details will be stored".
Should I be concerned?

I assume you are talking about the Play Market. If so, you should be all set as your financial info are not passed back and forth between your phone and Google for each transaction AFAIK.
