I am using upnplay and moboplayer, and it works great on my home network. Is there an easy way to set up where I can access my home network while at a wifi hotspot? I am on MetroPCS, so I realize that their internet connection is probably to slow to access media that way.

I apologize, but I'm an older guy that's not extremely savvy on these new technologies. I just have a basic enough understanding that I have set-up 2 wired and 5 wireless devices on my router. That is about all the network knowledge that I have, but I am intelligent enough to follow directions, if someone has a way for me to set this up.

Thanks very much in advance.

Welcome to AF!

You might want to have a look at Gmote:

https://market.android.com/details?id=org.gmote.client.android

You will need to install some software on your PC/MAC as well from their website:

Gmote > Android Remote

The instructions are pretty good.

The tricky part will come when you need to configure your router to let gmote pass through, and when you need to be able to find out your IP address (locally, and from the router)

A lot of people recommend a service called Dyndns to help with this:

Dynamic DNS: Free DNS Service - DynDNS.com

That should get you started, if you encounter difficulties, post back here and we'll try and walk you through it all :)
