Hi, just dumped my iPhone of 5 years for a GS5 and i LOVE it!, HOWEVER, I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS (actually a lot). I have a MAC and run Maverick OS (won't give that up....

1) on my GS5, how do i clear all my calendar entries? long story but i f'd something up and them dipped

2) any recommendations for syncing with mac? I tried the beta version of Synce mate, but i am not happy with it

3) regarding point 2, if there are no sync apps, is it safe to say that i can link google account (cal, contacts) to ical and Contacts and achieve 2 way syncing that way?

4) to sync my internet, i was told to download google crome and import my safari bookmarks then will that sync with android crome?

5) how do i get music from iTunes to android

6) how do i sync photo albums from iPhoto

tks

I can answer number 5 for you. First of all I believe if you bought the music from iTunes they are protected. If not just right click on a song and highlight and choose open in windows explorer. That being up every sing on your iTunes list. Just copy and paste them to your phone.

I have a mac, how do I do it then? Do I somehow get my android to be recognized as a device or a drive

Tks

Try installing Google's Android File Transfer tool on the Mac. Worst comes to the worst a microsd reader doesn't cost much, but AFT works with my HTC and Mavericks.

iTunes music has not been protected for many years, so you should have no problems copying.

I'm afraid I don't actually sync with my Mac though, just back stuff up/copy across, so can't really answer the other questions.

Samsung has an app for most of the iPhone to S5 stuff like music and contacts and cal. Its called Smart Switch on their website.

so I LOVE the GS5, but have a ton of questions. I am working with the camera, and would like to know: (please understand I have the android for two days now and its A LOT to digest :)

1) what is picture stabilization? i have a good idea, but why would i turn it off?

2) metering modes? i have no clue

3) what is selective focus?

4) this ultra HD video seems to have some limitations, will it kill that much more memory or give me issues elsewhere

5)video stabilization, why would i want this off?

6) what is audio zoom?

7) What is HDR and when or when not should i use it?

1: mage stabilization (IS) is a family of techniques used to reduce blurring associated with the motion of a camera during exposure..

its like if you move your camera while taking pictures .. it wont blur the photos

2:metering mode refers to the way in which a camera determines the exposure

3:Selective focus is basically what it sounds like. You select what portion of your image you want to be in focus (while blurring out the rest).

4:.. for uhd( ultra hd movies) you cannot make it more than 10minutes as far i know.. and yes it does eat up your memory

7: hdr you can use it where shadow is coming in the photos and its too dark and then you can turn on hdr then it will make the picture more brighter with lights..
