Help New to android

I am somewhat new to android and would like to know if someone could walk me through rooting my phone. i know theres a video but its missing some steps. i also would like to know if when i root my phone will i still be able to upgrade to 2.2(whenever that is) I would also like to know if any one can help with live wallpapers. i saw the post on sdx but i need alittle help.

This is what i used when i first rooted my phone, very simple and good guide: Guide to Flashing Vampirefo Transform Kernel and Recovery.
And yes u can, you can simply just but it back to stock easily (also useful if u need to take it to sprint)
Idk bout live wall papers cuz im not into it but im sure someone else is an expert in that field .

Just go to SDX Developers and look for the live wallpapers thread under the Development - Transform which you can find by browsing the forums and looking for something to the extent of.. 'Live Wallpapers on Transform?' Ill post a link later

thanks. another stupid question. if i do root my phone will i still be able to update to 2.2?

yea, u jus follow the same guide I linked u to but you use a different file and this will get u back to a completely stock phone thus allowing you to update.
