Help New to Android

Question for the masses,

I just bought a Zenithink 10" Android 2.1 and the only two questions that I can find answers to is; can I hook up an external DVD drive to it and how do I install vlc media player on it? All my movies are vlc so I'd like it to play my movies. I'd appreciate any and all help with this. I'm new to this forum and would like help. I don't want to guess wrong, hook up the DVD drive and blow my pad.
Also, I'm getting back and forth over whether or not Netflix works on it. Any thoughts? Some say yes / no and others say if I use the Netflix app then I'll be good. ?????
THANKS!

No you can not connect a DVD directly to the tablet. To play dvd movies convert them to mp4 and load that file to a micro SD card. I have about 24 full lengh DVD movies on a 16 GB sd with 4 or 5 GB left over.

As far as I know you can not play Netflix directly on the tablet. I recall reading somewhere where a person came up with a solution by using his normal desktop computer with some additional software and hardware. The results were just ok and it was a rather expensive way to do it. The main drawback, it can only be used on his home network.

Hey, I appreciate the help brother. I'm working on getting those movies converted over now. I looked into the Netflix after reading your post and apparently it's causing a big stink that we can't watch it but iPad can so it's supposed to come out with an App in the next few months. Good lookin out!

I can watch all my movies the I have on my external hard round 600 hundred, for my laptop with the My View app form the market you have to be connected to wifi and start the program on your pc before you leave your house but it works great
