I just received my first Android and was looking for ways to get rid of bloatware when I stumbled upon this forum. Hopefully I will find everything I am looking for. Thanks for creating a way for people not satisfied with letting corporations limit the abilities of their phones chat and help each other unlock the full potential of these brilliant little devices.

Welcome to Android Forums!

One of the great aspects Android is it's memory management so all that carrier bloatware isn't going to affect you that much. To get rid of it permanently you must root your device and possibly void the warranty (although I've yet to hear of anyone claiming their warranty wasn't honored because they rooted). If it bothers you, you can install an alternate launcher and hid the carrier apps in the app drawer as if they were never installed in the first place.
