New to Android

I just got a Samsung Infuse as a present and i'm coming from an iPhone original so i'm used to iTunes and everything. But I noticed that there is some drawbacks since for one this "Android Market" doesn't run on a desktop application, and also I don't have wifi at home so if I were to download games and apps that are large in size then it will eat up my 2Gig limit through AT&T. Also there's not a whole lot of name brand material since i'm big on Final Fantasy and Square Enix but I noticed some nice alternatives on android I might look into but I just wondered in retrospective what should I do? I should try new things but i'm not sure what to do nor how to make purchases since I don't see android market cash cards in stores.

Hi there, welcome to the Android forums. Couple of things that might help you below.

1) There is a browser version of the Android Market here: https://market.android.com/ With this you can sign in with your google account, and install apps directly from the browser version of the site to your phone and it will sync up without having to plug it in or anything. Would still take some data when it installs the app on your phone (Simple download time which shouldn't be a lot), but possibly might help you some.

2) What I do regarding purchasing apps is, I buy a $25 pre paid visa gift card, and use that in my google checkout to pay for apps. This allows me to only put $25 at risk in the rare chance that I get hacked (I'm really weird about this, hence why I don't use my personal bank card/credit cards).

Sorry I'm not to familiar with the game apps to provide any help there.

OK, that's a splendid tip for the visa pre-paid cards. I tend to see those around. But suggestion one is pretty self-aware.
