ROMs New to custom roms

I am new to custom roms and have some questions.

1) what rom should I get? I have the Droid X and the Galaxy Tab.

2) Where can I find a good step by step guide for flashing the roms?

You can start by checking out the forums for those devices. I can't link as I'm on my phone but if you navigate the blue bar up top and look under phones> Droid x or use the search bar you can easily find them.
