Help New to droids, questions!

Hi guys,

My iphone 4 was stolen yesterday so I went ahead and got a galaxy s2 skyrocket from ATT.

I'm not too familiar with the droids, therefore I apologize in advance for my noob questions.

1) My ATT phone plan still has the unlimited data because our family account has had it for years. I'm interested in enabling my wifi hot spot on this new phone. From what I've been reading, it sounds like rooting my phone will give me this ability. my question is, which root do I use for my ATT skyrocket? I found 2-3 different ones just by googling but i'm not sure.

2) On my iphone, i can double click my mic on my headphones and it would switch to the next song. i really like this feature because it saves me from having to put in my pin and open up the program again when i'm running.

3) Any way to get the screen to not shut off after 10 mins? On my iphone, I can disable this timer so it always stayed on. I like this because I just velcro my phone to my dash board and use it for navigation.

4) I wired my alpine deck with an iphone/ipod plug. basically, this plug will charge my iphone. it also acts as an input cable so when pandora is open, it sends the music through the same iphone/ipod cable and my car stereo system plays it. can I do this with USB?

For music control most headphones don't support android fully. Either they control the music and not the volume or control both music and volume but the mic doesn't work. There's earbuds that I bought called Klipsch S4A. They retail for $99 and can control music, volume and outgoing/incoming calls. The sounds quality is amazing and they are notice cancellation.
