Help new to me Note 3 MENU issue

I recently upgraded my self to a pre-owned Samsung Note 3 which I purchased off eBay. I did A LOT of research on the phone, each auction and seller before I made my purchase. It's not the first phone I have bought used, probably the 4th. I've been very happy with each purchase from private sellers via eBay. The worst "used/pre-owned phone was from the insurance which I will never do again!

This new to me phone is in great condition. I'm getting to know it and getting it set up the way I want it. I've Googled my questions and read lots of articles about tips and tricks, etc. I have one really crazy thing going on that I cannot for the life of me find the solution to. The Menu button is not "normal". See picture that hopefully attached properly.

I cannot figure out how to change it to the way all menu buttons are usually and the functions that are there. Any help? Is this a glitch? Is it a known issue? Do I need to reset? The phone did come to be me fully reset, on Android 5.0 and full battery. Really hoping there is just a setting somewhere that I am completely missing to make the menu button correction.

A soft reset or possibly adding a new app to one of those screens, or using a new Wallpaper should fix that. That's the homepage customization screen.

The launcher may be in easy mode

Neither a soft reset fix nor easy mode. Tried both already. Seems from the rest of my research that this is the way the menu is in 5.0 lollipop now, like it or not.
