New To Outook 2010

I just got Microsoft Office 2010 a couple of months ago and I have no idea how to set up Microsoft Outlook 2010.

What does it mean by typing the password your Internet service has given me?

I forgot the password that my Internet service provider has given me.

It's the password to your email account.

If your email is through your ISP, like username@comcast.com, and you don't remember the PW, call your ISP.

If you're using some other kind of email, like pop3 via hotmail for example, it's just whatever your password is that you use to get mail, I'm guessing through a browser right now?

Last, if you're trying to connect to a corporate email server, like username@microsoft.com, assuming your exchange account is set up to permit it, it would be the same password you use to log in at work.

Hope that helps, good luck.

Thank you.

Some more questions.

1. Does the email have to be from Comcast (My ISP)?

2. Can the email and password be from another website such as iCloud or AOL?

You can configure Outlook for as many accounts as you like.

However, the mail provider has to allow it. I don't know about AOL or iCloud. Best advice I can offer is to pick one and try it.

And no, you don't have to configure outlook for Comcast or use their email at all, but if you do, you can just use their web portal, you don't have to use a mail program.

If you google 'configuring outlook email accounts' you'll find lots of links and YouTube videos that should prove useful. It's really the same for 2007 and newer.

Good luck.

Thank you. I tried iCloud and it didn't work.
