Root New to rooting

So...im new to the rooting world...ive rooted my optimus, ive went in and removed a lot of junk...now what next? I rooted it to be used as an android device and not a phone. I'm getting ready to remove all logos, including the one behind the lcd lens. So what next? Any suggestions?

Build a rom make sure you got a backup before you do anything else
