Hey like most people I'm coming from apple. I purchased a galaxy note 8.0 and its great. Having a few issues though. Im using a bluetooth keyboard / case thing and I cannot find the keyboard settings to turn off the on screen keyboard. Also how do you correct a mispelled word? I tried clicking on it but all that happens is I get the little blue tab that puts you between letters. Probably dumb questions but ive googled it and all the directions dont seem to apply to this tablet. Under settings there is a language and input but it mostly has to do with voice typing. Thanks folks

I've never thought about turning off the on-screen keyboard. I'd actually like to know if that's possible too.

For correcting a word, hold down on thee screen where the word is and it should highlight the word you wanted to correct..

The same issue with the Note 10.1 connected with a USB keyboard. There's a message dialogue box saying it's switching to the default Samsung keyboard (I'm using Thumb Keyboard). Then the keyboard always pops up whenever I click on a new field. Hiding the keyboard helps only that little bit until you hit another field, then it pops up again. A little annoying. Also have to switch on screen keyboard defaults back to thumb keyboard when done.

I haven't found a way to disable this annoying little problem. I can't see this being a feature because it's redundant and pointless. You're using a bloody keyboard after all. The system recognizes the keyboard is attached. Why do you need the on screen board as well? I don't get it...
