Hi all, Just registered to the forum. Looking to learn about rooting phones.

My first question, I recently upgraded my MetroPCS phone from the Huawei M835 to the Samsung Admire SCH-R720. I would like to know what benefit it would be to root the phone, and if upgrading the OS from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6

There is also an "All Things Root" section in the sub-forum I have linked, where you should find a guide sticky, which should give you some more info on rooting, what it is, benefits, etc.
