Hey everyone, my name's Ryan, I'm new to the forums, fairly new to the wonderful world that is the Android operating system. I picked up a used Motorola Droid a couple months ago to get my first taste of the OS and just today snagged a Galaxy tablet and I am of course looking forward to the launch of the HTC Thunderbolt this Thursday.
I'm hoping to gain a substantial amount of knowledge and understanding of the operating system both for my own personal gain and to better serve the people I work with as I'm currently in the retail channel for Verizon. I'm sure that sent a big groan through a lot of you, but that's exactly why I'm here - I often encounter problems beyond the scope of what Verizon has equipped me with the ability to resolve and I'm left hunting for answers from other sources.
I've rooted my Droid but it was really just on an emergency basis as I needed to have it available as a WiFi hot spot, I haven't really done anything more than that recently. Rooting is one of my stronger areas of interest but I want to learn more than just how to do it - there's people I work with who have their phones rooted but don't seem to do any damn thing with them and what's the point of that? Anyways, I look forward to learning more about the devices and being a part of the community. Thanks in advance for all the help1
