Root New to Vibrant Rom Flashing

Hello, This is my first time posting in the vibrant section. I have a few questions about flashing a new rom on the vibrant. I'm doing this for a friends phone and I just wanted to get a few conformations before I do anything so I don't mess up his phone. I have already rooted his phone using xda-developers - View Single Post - Root your Vibrant . I then did the RyanZA's OCLF 2.0 - Android app on AppBrain . His phone is now faster then it ever was. I told him I could flash 2.2 and he wanted me to so I researched it and it seems simple enough. I myself use the HTC Incredible and flashing roms are very simple, and it seems that way on the Vibrant but I just wanted to double check to make sure.

1. I have to unistall the OCLF via the app.
2. Make a Backup!
3. Download the rom, I chose Nero V5 since that is the most recent version
4. Boot into clockwork, wipe blah blah blah, then install the rom via clockwork.

Is that everything? Do I have to redo the OCLF after I have installed the rom or will the rom have that stuff smoothed out? Also what is Voodoo and would I need to disable that? Only reason I ask that is because it tells you how to disable voodoo on the rom XDA page.

Thanks!

make sure your phone is rooted. Make sure no other lag fixes are installed, as a matter of fact, delet OCLF. Its pretty much useless now. Back up all user apps and data using Titanium Backup. Flash Rom through CWM. Nero 5 has Voodoo already enabled unlike previous version where it was installed but disabled by default.. Wait 15 minutes and reboot phone. Repeat this step several times to make sure all the bugs are worked out of it. You now have Froyo on your Vibrant. Good luck

If your ever have a question how to do it, a member named Austicles on xda has posted a how to video on how to use CWM.

Before you do anything else, please learn how to use odin to flash back to stock. You can never do enough reading

Custom roms come pre-rooted along with eugenes unofficial froyo. And as the previous user stated get rid of OCLF. The latest nero comes with the voodoo lagfix option in clockwork mod recovery.

Thanks, I know how to use CWM, as I stated i myself have a HTC incredible and it has been rooted since October and I flash roms probably every other week so that isn't anything new. I messed up my friends phone in the beginning and reflashed it with Odin back to stock, so I know the how to do that if necessary. I'll probably give it a try when I see him again.

Yeah, Axura is prerooted so he didnt have to root the phone first and install the lag fix...which takes up a lot of your 2GB of space reserved for Apps.
