Help New update - Add more apps in Multi-window

I've just downloaded the new update for Samsung Galaxy S3, and it seems that I am very restricted to the apps that can use the multi-window feature.

Is there anyway of adding other apps to this?

Also I do not have the option of the Facebook ticker on my lock screen. Any ideas why not?

Many thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

You need to be rooted and then you can apply a mod which makes all apps compatible with multi window.

If you want to use the Facebook flicker, you can't have any lock screen protection, such as Pattern Lock, PIN, Password. You can activate it from Settings - Lock screen - Lock screen option.

Then, it seems strange. I have to say, I never used this feature, and when I tried after reading this thread, it worked just fine.

Not seeing the point of multi window on a small display like a phone, yet alone the dual core in the S3.

I use it rarely but sometimes ill watch youtube or a film while using AF app. These are the only apps i use in it uploadfromtaptalk1369956220604.jpg

Multi window, dual core and phone size display. Not seeing the value besides hotter running device and less battery life. JMO

Yeah its just samsungs crappy software. Ill never understand why they limited the apps that can be used while a root app can add any

Number of cores dont matter. Its the s4 processor which benchmarks out only slightly lower than the s4 pro quad core they put in the nexus 4. Its more than capable of running multi window. In fact if you took 2 identical phones one with a s4 dual core and one with the s4 pro quad core you wouldnt be able to tell which phone was which with everyday use.

Compatibility, Google stopped CyanogenMOD when they wanted to integrate a similar feature. They said it would completely ruin the experience Google is striving for, and if CyanogenMOD was to keep going in that direction, it wouldn't be a development over Android anymore, but a fork. They said they would limit access to certain Android features if that was to go on.

Samsung, though, has been allowed with that similar feature, probably because only a few selection of apps work on it by default.

Ah right. Thanx man. That seems a bit "evil" of Google. I never knew they were so restrictive :(
Bet it ends up being in a future version of stock android though lol.. it would be really good on a tab

The device has to work harder doing it, hence more heat and less battery life compared to the S4. All moot though, over the signal, battery and automatic feature activations, the update has caused. Not just me with the issues. The update sux.
