New update available

Had another wifi lock that melted away 20% of my battery, so I happened to tell the phone to search for an update, and alas, there is one available. 570.1 MB. Unfortunately they only allow updates over wifi, so I'll have to wait until I get home. But at least there is one. I hope to God it at least fixes the camera, even if they fail to address the wifi locks...

Well, got home last night, got on Wifi to try and download the update, and now the phone isn't grabbing it. It says the system is up to date.

::shrug:: buggy phone, buggy update process as well. Sure wish it would have just downloaded it over 4G.

Meant to update this. A couple days later, the availability of the update came back, while I was within range of wifi. Hopped on wifi and downloaded/ installed it. No improvement in camera quality (not surprising, as camera wasn't listed within the upgrades). The list said:
-Some important security updates
-Several minor improvements to the general usability

So far I have not noticed any changes in my daily use.

The one thing that I have noticed, since the last update, is that there are constant wifi hijackings now. If the wifi is never switched on, it never shows up in the battery usage window.

Almost every day, the wifi shows up on the list, even if it doesn't log usage in the green bar. And most days I am using neither wifi, nor location, and I've got everything locked out from wifi as much as Cat's version of the OS allows me to. Of course, the reason I know to check the window to see if wifi has showed up, is that I can feel the phone get warm in my pocket (eating the battery).

It's almost as if I'm still getting the random, inexplicable wifi locks as I was before, but they disabled the status bar to attempt to hide how often it was happening.

The battery life on this phone could be amazing, but I'm progressively getting worse battery life as time goes on, because of all the wifi locks. I used to get a solid 2-3 days without Greenify, and then a solid 3 days once I installed Greenify. Now I barely get 2 days with Greenify, and there has been no real change in my installed apps or usage habits, just that I get a wifi or wake lock virtually every day that burns off the battery power. The only change I've made is to install their software updates, which seem to slowly be crippling the phone, both battery and camera-wise.

Two days ago I received message about new updates:
''...This update includes some important security updates, some improvements to the camera image quality and a number of minor improvements to the general usability.
Update size:645.6 Mb''

I didn't update phone yet but I will leave comment here after updating.
I don't know why our updates are so different.
There is nothing about this update on Cat web pages.

p.s. I had similar problem with wifi drainage battery but after couple restarts the problem was solved. When wifi is disabled, it is not listed at the battery history details anymore.

I updated the phone and didn't notice any improvments exept new option in the sound settings. Now I can turn off camera shutter sound which was really annoying.
