Does anybody know what's in the update? It shows 490.4 mb download.

Anyone wanna volunteer to sacrifice their phone and see what happens when you click on it? Hehe. Or I wonder if there's a cache/data area that can be cleared to get rid of it.

Update: I contacted Boost Mobile about it, and received this reply...

In line with your inquiry, since we only have a limited access to your
device software we highly recommend you to contact the manufacturer of
the phone to determine and verify if the update is legit and needed to
your device. As of the moment, we suggest not to download the file yet
because its better to identify if the update is necessary to your phone.
You can contact LG at 1-800-793-8896 and they are available 24 hrs. - 7
days a week.

My phone is an LG X Power. I have not called LG yet but plan to do so tomorrow most likely.

If you have an LG X Power this upgrade works. I just downloaded it to moine with no problem. It does take a while as it has not only to upgrade the android system, but also upgrade each app on your phone.

I called LG Support and the fellow said when in doubt to check your phone setting for System Updates and the "Update LG Software". If the update appears there it should be safe.

This morning the title of the pending download changed to "Android Update" with some more information. That looked much more legit than the original file that was waiting there with no explanation on what it was. I also downloaded and installed with no problems.
 
I didn't receive an update on my X Power and it's not that new as I got it last year, I tried the device update and it came up saying no updates, is there a way to tell if you already got this update or not?
 
As I stated I have the LG X POWER, I bought it in October of last year, here's a photo of my phone info and they told me that there is no update and mi9ner is clearly not what's listed here.

This update is probably for Sprint, Virgin, Boost Mobile phones. Wonder if it will eventually be updated to Nougat?
