Help New Update Ruined Messaging!

Lurker
Hello :-D

I've only been able to find a couple others with this issue but couldn't find any solution. When I received the last update on my phone, it messed up my text dictionary. I still have auto-correct and my English dictionary set, but my phone does not recognize words unless they're in my personal dictionary or names from my contact list. It will, however, suggest proper punctuation of words ('doesnt' will show 'doesn't'), but it will not correct spelling or make word suggestions from an English dictionary.

Sprint's solution was to click "add to dictionary" on each word I text to slowly build a personal dictionary, but that's ridiculous. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

Thanks :)

Search in the android market for an app called Keyboard from Android 2.3 by developer Steven Lin.
You'll have to mess with the settings a little and make sure in your messaging you choose this as your default keyboard.

got mine working exactly how it was before this horrible update.

(:
