Help New user, how can I get buttons to act like my S4?

Hi -

I'm a fairly new user to my Tab 4. I notice 2 things different from both my S4 and many other android devices:
1) Holding the center button brings me to some Google Now thing instead of task manager like I'm used to.
2) Pressing the left button, instead of bringing up the menu of wherever I am, tells me the key was remapped to "recent". I will note here that holding down this key will in fact pull up the menu, so this one's not as big of a deal.

Can anyone either A) tell me how to remap these buttons to the functions I'm used to, or B) tell me how to access Task Manager no matter what screen or app I'm in?

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Those are properly labelled "Device Keys", and I haven't figure out how to change them, yet. This may require you to install a different ROM, as they are not really a part of the Launcher.

There is an "Active Apps" widget which you could add to your screen, it is a 1x1 and I use mine all the time. Would that help?

You should be able to disable Google Now. I did that before I gave my dad his tablet. (I think I read that Now is a battery hog.) Can't remember exactly but I think you just open Google and go into settings and flip the switch.
