Hi. Just registered. I'm new to the android world and have my first wi-fi capable phone. Been using it for a few months and trying to get used to the features. I don't do much other than use the phone, text, e-mail, and use the web. All worked ok until my internet carrier had to come out for a problem. The tech installed a new router and I didn't get the pw from him nor was it on the router anywhere. A few days later I called and a different tech came and put a new pw on it. My wife and I both have Samsung Captivate Glide phones. I was able to connect hers to the router and the wi-fi works fine. I attempted to connect mine, it accepted it and connected and I tested it quickly and shut it off. Next day I turned the wi-fi on, it connected, then shut off after a few seconds. I have attempted numerous time and now I have to enter the password each time, it stays on for few seconds then unconnects. I have repeated the procedure many times but with the same results. Wife's phone picks up the router, stays on and works fine so that is obviously not the problem. To the best of my knowledge (and ability) the phone settings are the same. Have pulled the battery but no change. Any suggestions? Samsung instruction book and internet are very vague. Thanks for any help.

Hi tincup and welcome to Android Forums!

I can only suggest that you reboot the router... that's about it. I'm not sure otherwise why her Captivate will connect but yours won't, but I'd have that tech right back until it's all resolved to your satisfaction.

It's great to have you here :)

Thanks for the response. Made the call to my carrier, AT&T. They ran the necessary tests. Some internal problem with the phone. Still under warranty and they have a replacement on the way. These phones have so many settings and so little explanation in the manual it's hard to tell if the problem is operator induced or if it's a phone problem. Anyway, should be up and running in a couple of days.:dancing2:

Great to hear! Let us know if the new phone clears up the issue: other readers may have a similar problem and posting the solution will be of great benefit to all. Thanks!
