Just got my 701. Love it so far. One thing, how the heck do you get the battery cover back off. lol I've tried a bit but there is nothing at all to pull on and I don't want to put too much pressure on it and crack the screen or something.

And also, the usual topic, battery life. Should it improve after a few cycles? I was using it sporadically this morning after overnight charge, nothing crazy. a few d/ls etc. Died out fully after 3 hours. At about 50% I turned on the battery saving feature, set my e-mail not to push, turned screen down almost to 0, turned off 3g, and it still crapped out about an hour and a half later from 50%. WTF?

Edit: and does anyone elses phone get really hot when using 3g?
 
Somewhat new to android with a few questions. Many more to follow I am sure. Using a Motorola xt701 with 2.1.


I was wondering if there is a way to tell what is using data at any given time? My data transfer arrows are going most of the time with nothing going on and most things set not to update.

Does using the built in FM tuner use data? Logically, I assume it doesn't but I'd rather be sure by asking than get a surprise on my bill.

Is there a way to manually turn off data all together? I know you can switch to 2g, but I've found no option to turn data off.

To take the back battery casing off push on it and push DOWN. That will slide it down and open.

Battery improved greatly after a few charges for me.

Great phone.
