New Years Eve and the First 2025

It blows my mind that a new year starts next week. It seems that we just rang in 2024. I hope 2024 proved to be a good year for everyone with 2025 bringing good health and happiness. I'm ringing in the new year at the cabin which has become a tradition. My health has improved so I'll enjoy the entire party and spend the night this year.
We always throw together something for dinner and party and swap lies until midnight when we will lift a glass together and hope to enjoy the same party the next year. I'll have my traditional black eyed pea new years dinner the first. It might bring good luck, who knows? I'm not ready to skip it and find out. Besides, it's one of my favorite meals.

Do you have any special plans to ring in the new year? How about a special dinner on the eve or the first? Any special traditions you observe? Any resolutions you want plan to make? Any resolutions you plan to keep?

It's a Southern dish and tasty. You can buy it canned but it isn't the real deal. I think the canned tastes soapy. :) Not as bad as a bar of soap in the mouth for smoking as a child but close. :)
I love black eyed peas with onion and cornbread. It will ham with mine this year. When I was growing up the trifecta on the first was black eyed peas, cornbread, and salmon cakes.

Went to my sister's last night, about four in the afternoon, we played three different board games, Magnetic frame game to match the cards.
One from the Oatmeal's infamous comic genuis called Nethandral poetry slam.
And a matching 2can card game.
Very unique games over all.
Today just got back from in town for a quick few hours, around the coffee shop and catching up with great friends.
 
I enjoyed a great turnout for the new year party at the cabin. There were 18 people on the deck lifting a drink at midnight. Two more guests showed up this morning just to say hi to those still at the cabin. Only two couples left after midnight. We slept all over the cabin and the trailer. I use the term sleep loosely. It was after four before the rest of the diehards crashed. and we were serving breakfast at eight. It was a good time!
 
2024 and 2025 ended and started the same way, at a truck stop. I got up early on the 31st to make a delivery and then go pick up a load. I stopped for fuel and decided to call it a day. My news eves big plans came down to what I wanted to do for dinner??? I ended up over sleeping
