Morning all,

I'm new not only to this site, but to the Android operating system. I live in Spain and wanted an Ipad, but they're a fortune over here, so I bought an Android tablet from the U.K. instead, saving me enough cash to buy some more makeup!

I'm familiar with Windows, but I'm finding it difficult to get to grips with this new (to me) operating system - probably because I'm knocking on in years - 68 next birthday, but don't tell anybody!

Does anyone know if there's a resource I can use that explains this system in easy-to-understand language? It would be a great help.

Well, the sun's coming out now (sorry) so I'm off out to the garden.

Carol, welcome to the site and do hope you enjoy

What tablet make and model did you end up going with, I will then direct you to the proper support forum section so you can get all your questions answered, cheers. Remember never too old to learn ;)

Hi DonB

Thanks for your reply and welcome

Sorry to appear rude in not replying before - family visiting.

I can only find the name "SmarttabV10" - but it's Chinese, so that's probably generic, and it's running Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3.

Anyway, any guidance would be gratefully received.
Regards

Carol

Hi Carol and welcome to Android Forums!

Try not to feel overwhelmed by Android or somehow less an enthusiast because you're new to the operating system. No one here was born an expert: we all started with zero knowledge. We learn from each other and grow in knowledge and skill together. It's what we are here for.

So if you have any questions at all about Android or operating your tablet, don't hesitate to ask any of us. We're here to help you get the most out of your device :)

Maybe this will help you:

There other tablet users can help you with tablet-specific questions... but almost anyone can help with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

It's great to have you here!
