Welcome. Saying this phone is the best out there is a stretch, but I get where your coming from. This is a very capable device that can hang with the big boys, it will lose every benchmark, but not by much. For the price there just isn't a better device, and there are phones twice the price of this one that don't perform like it. I always root my phones, I'm disappointed that there isn't any root yet(big YET), but this is probably the first device I've had that I'm ok with the possibility with no root. It performs extremely well, and can handle just about everything I throw at it without hiccups. And there are some flagship that will hiccup. I'm sure if ZTE were to release this phone on all the big carriers that it would be the best selling, and most popular phone period.

Totally agree. This is my fave phone of the century. The VR capability of zmax pro is why I own and love this phone, Big plus is the screen. The MANY bugs kinda annoys me but I am really hoping updating it to Android N will fix ALL of the bug annoyances. I plan to keep this phone for life. It really has everything I need.

For security and selfish reasons, I actually am kind of hoping this will not get rooted. I really don't see why root this phone it already has everything you root your phone for. Right?
 
I would like root to get rid of the Metro PCS bloatware. I'm also hoping for root, because I really like flashing ROMs, and Kernels. Hoping that sometime in the future we get an unlocked bootloader, and a Kernel capable of overclock. Games run smooth on this phone, but with an overclockable CPU/Gpu imagine what we could get out of the 617/405 CPU/GPU chipset. This phone has the potential to run like a stock snapdragon 805/810/or 820 with overclock.
