Newbie needs help with data plan

Hi every one. Thank god for forums.

Here is my situation I am with sprint everthing data 450 $69 my data is unlimited. My phone is motorola renegade v950 this phone has a slot for a sims card.
Sprint wants $10 more a month if i upgrade to galaxy plus $200 plus 2 year contract.
Verison wants $69 for voice no tex plus $29 for 4 gig data plan and $250 plus 2 year contract for razr max.
My usage on a new phone would be 150 pages,1 hour GPS,2 hours pandora and 10 emails a day as i am a ebayer and I really dont tex. I want hot spot for home computer and want to keep my bill down. Rooting will help
Any sugestions will help, Thank You
 
Are those prices you are quoting inclusive of the hotspot? In the US, carriers will charge you an additonal $20-$30 for using your phone as a hotspot.
 
everything you described sound like you should be able to get away with 2gig plan. That is if you exclude the hotspot. Let me just say this about mobile hotspots be it from your phone dongle or the little box. They are unreliable and do not work as well as home internet, sometimes they don't work at all. I personally think you will be saving more money if you go with varizon or sprint cheapest plans and get at&t most basic connection for your house which is like 14 dollars a month.
 
Well I don"t want to steel from anyone . I will be paying for internet services and if I chose to teather to a larger screem what is that considerd? I bought a Sprint phone that came with a sim card insured the phone with sprint when I made a clam Sprint would not replace the card. I think most corprate management steel one way or another. I might get flamed for saying this, just the way I feel.
