Newbie Question about Chimp tablet

Hi, looked everywhere I can think of, so Im looking to the experts to help me out.

I inherited an 8-9" Chimp tab, model number ET9-1, the problem is I can never connect to the OWL update server, so its stuck on Android 4.0.4. :confused:

Ive been looking for at the very least 4.1 so I can use different launchers, how do I do an update from and SD card which has a newer ROM downloaded onto it? answers Id be really greatful for.

Well i had the same isue when i was noob but since i gave learned i tried rooting the phone/rablet with variouses of rooting apps like towelroot or badui root etc then use a application called FlashGUI to install a CWM recovery or TWRP for the device specifically it goes to then i find a stock rom that you want and flash it, however you can try searching 4shared and put keyword update apk their should be an app called software update v4.28 apk and get that idk if it actually work but seems to bevthe only thing ik that app also works for non rooted phones/tabs
 
Hi, the tablet is rooted, I found that fairly easy, it's this bit which is proving hard, I thought I'd be limited to OWL updates.... Are you saying im not?

No if your rooted then you have nothing to worry about but im saying is to get a new os you need to seaech CM for your model of your tablet
 
If Im honest Im still confused as to what to do, I could do with a step by step dummies guide, I just need to get a more up to date version of Android on this tablet, which is updatable?!?!?

Thanks in advance for any help, I have 2 of these tablets on OWL software, one 7 inch with Android 4.1.1 and 10 inch on 4.0.4, both of which perform pretty poorly.

It's possible but just search the following In Google for example "Samsung Galaxy S4 M919 roms" then most of the time you'll see rim updates to flash on your tablet
 
Depends if any developer made any custom tons for your tablet but be sure it's the room to the model of your tablet
 
Tell you what if you copy the system files and zip them and upload them I can make a custom Ron for your tablet but I also require you that you also create a system backup and send me that too if you are able to then I build an one from that is that alright with u
