Hi guys,

This is my first android phone, I have searched the FAQs and forum but haven't found answers to some basic questions. There seem to be some very technical discussions on this forum!

I have installed the facebook application but don't seem to get notifications about new messages etc. Is there something I can do in settings? (also update set at 30 minutes - seems rather long!)

I have set up my personal email address but it doesn't seem to 'sync' with the account. I get notification of new messages but if I delete it on my mobile I would expect it to delete from my personal account. Also I seem to receive messages on my mobile that would go into my junk folder at home - settings?

Some of the pages seem to take a long time to load and seems to hang up. This phone is only 2 days old - should I do something?

Finally people talk about 2.1, 2.2 - is there a way of finding out what version I'm on.

Apologies if these questions are answered elsewhere but I did do some searches but couldn't really find the answers I needed. I'm clearly not as technically minded as most people on this forum. Please go lightly on me.

Thanks in advance for any replies received.

The Facebook for Android app is really buggy. It gets better with Froyo but still horrible compared to the iPhone app. To check your notification settings, open the app, go to the main screen (by clicking the Facebook logo), press the menu button on your phone (bottom left) and click settings.

The Galaxy S is known for it's lag issues. Again, things get better with Froyo 2.2. It's not recommended to use task killers, however, there's an app in the market called System Panel which you can use to check to see if there are any CPU hoggers etc.
