I have a stock Bionic (OTA .902). I rooted via Motofail. I installed Safestrap. I installed CMR. Then I performed a backup, which was successful, via CMR/Safestrap. Am I good to remove bloatware now w/o fear of getting back to stock?

Yes and no. You are ready to take care of the bloat but you need to freeze it not remove it. Use Titanium Backup or something similar. When it comes time to update you can defrost the bloat and be back to stock.

As for deleting the bloatware...I would not delete any bloat. I would buy Titanium Backup Pro and just freeze the bloat. There is a list of safe bloat to freeze. Also, with safestrap you can just install a custom ROM without any of the bloat.
