Newbie with app prob

Hi, new on here but hope to get some help :)
I had the news and weather app (the weather channel) on my phone which gave my location and current weather conditions. I somehow lost this and then cleared all the date and now I cannot get the app to display the weather as it used to on front page of phone. It just has the app. Can anyone help as to what I can do? Or is there another free app where I can get it to display (without ads etc).

Do you mean that it was on your home screen and then, somehow, it was removed and, when you tried to put it back, it's not acting the same way as before?

Yes that's basically right. Was playing around with it trying to change the location and lost it completely. It has always been on home screen but cannot remember how I got it there and show weather, location etc, I thought it just opened up. I then went into the app and cleared data and placed on home screen again but still it would not open by itself and its just sitting on the home screen! Only way it will display weather is if I select it. It's so annoying!
 
It sounds like you removed a widget.

You need to go to one of the home screens and hit long press on it - you get an "add to screen" and then you need to select "widget" and then you should be able to find the weather widget from there!

That should sort you out :)

My goodness...it was THAT simple! Thank you so much..shows I don't know my apps from my widgets! Will take a look at the link..thanks again.
 
No problemo... I was able to help, as that's a general Android type question... I've pointed you at the sub-forum, as the guys in there have hands on experience with the device!
