Signal strength comes from both the power of the broadcasting tower and the power of the phone's internal radio. Since the FCC regulates the tower's output, the phone's radio is a fixed wattage, the only way to improve signal is with some sort of repeater. I know they make 3G devices, which have marginal effectiveness, but I don't know of any 4G devices on the market yet.

There might be some ways that would involve flashing different software for the radio, but it's a very advanced process and I don't know for sure if there are any ways for that phone in particular. You should check out these forums:
