Please be kind, I've been an iphone user for several yrs. but couldn't pass up the deal at Sams today. Wife and I both have the Galaxy 2S. Am trying to figure out basic stuff like transferring my songs and photos to the new phone. Anything someone can suggest? I didn't see any sync software with the phones. Where do I get it?

Don't worry about it. There's a different paradigm at work here. You see with Android you don't need sync software. You plug in the phone to the PC using the USB cable and you should see a notification in the bar that says "USB Connected". Touch that and choose storage mode. Your phone will mount on your PC as a removable drive and you just copy the files.

Music goes in the music folder, pictures in pictures, ringtones in ringtones ... easy peasy.

altho, if you prefer the syncing style for music etc, doubletwist is pretty good. i'm a newbie to android too and it took me a couple of goes to get doubletwist going properly but now i have it's a breeze, and has a similar layout to itunes
