Good day to you all, i am new to all the android experience and i love my phone (Xperia X8) but as most i am disappointed that the operating software will not be updated later than 2.1, so i wanted to find out what other options i have and this was by far the best site for honest and good feed back.

You might want to ask this question in the X8 sub-forum (http://androidforums.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x8/).

An option for you may be rooting the device, as you should be able to install Gingerbread (2.3) on your phone... there are reasons both for (ability to have updated firmware on your phone) and against (voids warrantee) rooting, but other users of the device will be able to explain!
