Lurker
Hi all,

I've been lurking a little on this forum for a while now and hope I'm posting in the correct area.

I currently have a HTC Desire with O2 and have had it for about a year and a half, I've debranded it and then rooted it. Then I put Cyanogenmod on it and it's been awsome! (only issue is lack of system space and I didn't want to start partitioning my SD Card).

In April my Phone contract is due for renewal. Which means upgrade time. I'm sticking with Android, no question.

I'm with O2 in the UK and can see my best options being either the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (both of these phones seem to be a little bit better than HTCs offerings).

With the two phones in mind which would you go for? The S2 will be a branded o2 with Froyo or Gingerbread no doubt. The Nexus is ICS.

The S2 works out cheaper in the long run and could be rooted + rom'd with an ICS version of Cyanogenmod (when it's released).

The Nexus has ICS on now, isn't branded and will recieve updates over time too. Would I decide to root the Nexus if my main thing is having the latest version of Android?

Anyone have any thoughts? Which would you choose? My HTC Desire was simple enough to Root, the S2 seems a little more complicated and I might have to buy a jig too.
