nexus⁴ part 2: Key lime Pie

Seeing a lot of posters around here acting bored with the nexus and wanting to ditch for some of the admittedly nice phones out there (Xperia Z, HTC One, Galaxy S4) but before you renew or start a new contract for one of these I would remind you how long it took these guys to get jellybean and how long it will be before you see key lime pie.

I'm just saying...

Agreed, I don't think there is any phone running 4.2 that's not a nexus (stock firmware). I doubt i'll ever buy anything other than a nexus again.

Clearly some people are long on cash and short on attention span :)

But, y'know: whatever rocks their boat ..

Guess I might be, too - if I weren't so darn tight :)

To be honest I see no reason to ever "upgrade" as long as my phone holds up and even then I'll probably just buy another one. There is just no reason to go with anything else. Sure there is a lot that does stuff better than this phone (better camera, better battery, 1080p screen, faster processor, etc) but the fact is this phone is well rounded and performs beautifully for pretty much everything.

Regular, quick updates is essential for me. Got use to that with the iPhone. The Nexus line does that we'll, too. It is often an overlooked factor until you are on a phone that is virtually outdated because of the lack of updates.

This is the exact reason I chose to upgrade to this phone. Updates straight from the source Google. Not sure if I'm looking back to deal with some of the lack of updates from carriers.

My nexus 4 isn't going anywhere until another nexus comes out...

However I will of course be giving the HTC one a whirl...why? Because I'm a tech whore...lol

Stick with the Nexus people or you'll be complaint like me on how long updates get to a carrier phone.
