Help Nexus 4: bluetooth audio interruptions when connected to wifi

Hendrina

Lurker
I have a problem with audio streaming when I connect my nexus 4 phone to my dvd player via bluetooth. If I am connected to my wifi, then the audio gets interruptrd every few seconds or even stops. As soon as I turn off my wifi connection, it plays properly.
When I connect my laptop via the bluetooth, it plays without interruption even with the wifi connection. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I tried searching for previous threads but can't find a solution.

Hi @Hendrina, and welcome to Android Forums :)

What app(s) are you using for streaming? What kind of DVD player do you have? I'm not really familiar with streaming audio to a DVD player, so any specific detail that you could provide would be helpful. :thumbsupdroid:

Hie, so I have a samsung HT-Z320, and it has that function of Bluetooth connecting among others. As for the apps I have tried youtube, i had fusion player as well (this one played audio that is stored on the device). Recently I have been trying Spotify and it's still the same. So basically wether it's coming from the phone or directly online as long as the wifi is connected it interferes. If you need any more details just ask :). Thanks

N4 seems to have conflicts with BT and WiFi at the same time. This occurs for me with a BT headset, or when I'm using BT connected to my car(drops the BT connection outright). From reading other posts, I gather that BT/WiFi is on the same chip. For me shutting off WiFi when I'm in the car solved the problem 100%, but I assume you're streaming from WiFi to BT so that's no help. No fix that I've found, it's a limitation of the hardware.
