Hi there!
I have got above mentioned problems with my Nexus 4 (running KitKat), so i thought you could help!
Some weeks ago I realized that my compass wasn't working when I wanted to play Ingress. The screen didn't react to changes in compass-orientation. I tried Maps - same problem. So I downloaded a sensor-test app (SensorGuru, and others). For the magnetic sensor it shows "no data" on all axes. Calibrating had no effect. The Values for the "Rotation Vector" and "Orientaion" is zero on all axes. Every other sensor works like a charm.
I assume these problems started after my phone fell on the pavement, and the screen broke. I replaced the screen (myself), i didn't check every single function immediately because i thought everything is ok (screen changes orientation when flipped). So maybe i damaged one of the sensor chips (or is it a single chip?), or maybe its a stupid coincidence and there was a software fault shortly after my phone kissing the ground?
So what do you think? What should I try to fix this?
Its really annoying not having a working compass, even more anoying is the fact that i have no clue whats going on:stupido2:!
Thanks in advance for your help! :thumb:
