Lurker
hello all,
Im very new with android and came over from having a blackberry bold 9780. now I have a nexus 4. ive been having a few issues with the phone. mainly im unable to download apps. I have a google account. its all setup with the phone and etc. but when I try to download an app it estimated time for download say for facebook goes up to 56hours! im trying to do this thru wifi only. mobile data is off and im able to surf. I don't want to use my providers data at all. so can I download apps without turning on my data plan on only using my wifi? if so how can I without waiting 56hours for facebook?
thanks

I download pretty much all my Apps over WiFi, it sounds like you might have a WiFi problem. It could be any number of things.
I wonder if it's shutting off with screen...turn on your WiFi...than long press on the WiFi icon to open WiFi settings...click the 3 dots on the lower left of screen & choose Advanced...2 lines down you should see 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep', it should say 'Always'..if not click it & change it to 'Always'.

I would also download Wi-Fi Analyzer to check your routers signal strength.
